Collaborations

Healing Himalayas

Rampant tourism and lack of awareness, leaves our mountains exposed and vulnerable to the adverse impacts. To combat the same, we joined hands with Healing Himalayas to come up with “Sustaining Paradise” an initiative which looks forward to restore the tranquility and charm of the mighty Himalayas by making it plastic & garbage-free. Since its inception, we’ve managed to set up the first waste collection centre at Rakccham and aim to construct many more at similar high altitude remote regions of Himalayas.

To increase the awareness, we’re also involving the local village volunteers, informing them about the harms of primitive waste disposal practices and promoting the use of eco-friendly products.

So far, approx 3 tonnes (3000 Kgs) of waste is handled at the Rakchham centre. Out of which 800-1000 kg comprises of Plastic/Glass waste per month from 110 Households.

Additionally, 1750-2000 kg plastic/Glass waste per month is collected from 15 Accommodation Providers (Hotels, Homestays and Campsites)

Hemkunt Foundation

Joining hands to make our oceans cleaner!

Ek Saath & Hemkunt Foundation came together to take up the cause of marine pollution. We got together to clean up the Carter Beach shore every Saturday under the collaboration. With the overwhelming support of our volunteers, we managed to rid the coast of 5000 kg of plastic and other trash from the beach and its surrounding mangroves.

The Meer Foundation

HUNGER RELIEF IN THE TIME OF COVID-19

The hunger crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic and the national lockdown has affected migrant and daily wage workers stuck in Mumbai without work and means to return to the security of their villages.

When Ek Saath took up relief measures for this affected community, it was fortunate to have the support of the Meer Foundation, an initiative by Shah Rukh Khan that is doing outstanding work for women empowerment.

Thanks to the generosity and support of the Meer Foundation, Ek Saath fulfilled an urgent need to provide 5,500 families of daily wage workers with ration sufficient for one month, and set up a kitchen that would send out 2,000 freshly cooked meals every day to help households and hospitals that are unable to fulfill their daily needs.
